Coming round to birthday time and I've been feeling low as per my seasons. So decided to get off my backside and smash this weekend past. Game on with a visit to my grandfather and family. Followed up with a ride to rock climbing that included a lovely chance encounter with a family member of a friend who only 4 months ago was on his death bed and now is full of life. Inspired. So inspired in fact that I then road into a gutter and had to do a macgyver roll which I think saved me from a broken arm. Then did some rock climbing. Committed.
Sunday was supposed to be a trip to the blue mountains with Cam but on a whim we ended up taking route 69 from Richmond to Singleton (Google Map). Awesome road (awesome number!) with high variety of terrain and road conditions. I recommend it to anyone with a decent machine and the willingness to turn in! So once in Singleton we resolve to the hell out and headed back to Sydney via the Hunter Valley. Wine tasting, a chicken and leek pie + an early birthday gift later we took on the drive home via the old pacific highway (at times).
And that was that. Well, it beats getting old...
